Scripture in the Morning #130

Scripture in the Morning #130
Good Morning:

“Dear God, enlighten what’s dark in me, strengthen what is weak in me, mend what is broken in me, bind what is bruised in me, heal what is sick in me, and lastly… revive whatever peace and love has died in me.”

Regarding “ mend what is broken in me, bind what is bruised in me…”

Do we realize that allowing past hurts to still affect us is a choice? It is a choice that we make to dwell on the past – something we need not do.

Philippians 3:13 brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead

May we each pray that the Lord would fix our gaze on our future. Our future in heaven where we will be free of our sin nature, where we will enjoy forever praising Him and celebrate forever the Joy of Lord with billions of others also saved by grace. May He fix our eyes on the wonderful opportunities we have in the future – before heaven – to share of God’s greatness with the ones we love. May He fix our eyes, our hearts and our hopes on the Grace He has for us TODAY and in our FUTURE.

If we then get up off our knees from such prayers and commit – in His power – to look forward to all the future blessings – then we will be more freed from our past. And – so freed – we can be the vessel of blessing we are called to be the remainder of our days.

It is awesome to be the Bride of Christ and the adopted children of the Father – is it not? Enjoy your Lord this day.
