Scripture in the Morning #150
A few verses for this morning…
1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace
Mark 10:44 And whoever would be first among you must be servant of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve…
A prayer starter for this morning….
“Father God, for the sake of those around us, Lord, we ask that you give us a sensitivity toward one another. Please remove from us the self-centered desires that so dominate the way that we interact with others. Forgive us Lord for the manner in which we interact with those that we love. We so often expect them to give onto us and often think little of how we can give on to them. We often think in terms of what we receive from them rather than how we can serve. Lord forgive us for so often being more concerned with our selves than with them. Forgive us for thinking so highly of ourselves that we place ourselves first. Please Lord, remove from us the thinking that others exist for our benefit, and replace such thinking with a ministry mind set. Move within us Lord that we would see those we love as being what they are — gifts in our lives placed here by the loving omnipotent hand of our gracious Lord and Savior. Please let us see each other as you see us. Instill within us a deep love — an unconditional love for those around us that is not contingent on what we receive. Make our hearts flow with a thanksgiving onto you for the privilege of serving, ministering to, and loving those you have placed within our lives.”
May the Lord use us as a vessel fo blessing this fine day.
