Scripture in the Morning #55
Some considerations for you to ponder…
God is infinitely patient and infinitely faithful towards us.
Even when our faith seems to fail… even when we might lose sight of God as the centerpiece of our life – and even when we deny God – rebelling against His Lordship, or ignoring His Word or choosing our path rather than His – even when we by our thoughts, our words or our actions start walking in another direction, like Peter before us – God is faithful and forgives and blesses us.
Remember how Peter denied Christ 3 times? He walked away, was rebellious, sinful. And by Grace he was forgiven. God blessed Peter even in view of his sin.
Matt 16:18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church…
Some of us have walked away from the Lord – walked away for a time and maybe even for years. But God brings His sheep home. God is still faithful, forgives and brings us back.
Some of us have real difficulty in keeping as pure and as centered upon God as we would like (including me) – and yet even in view of our flaws, God forgives, is faithful and blesses us. Sin is still sin and none of this invites more sin or makes our sin any less heinous. But what it does do is illustrate the infinite Grace, Mercy, Forgiveness and Compassion of our Faithful Lord.
For God’s patience with us, for the forgiveness He continues to grant us – may we thank Him in prayer this morning.
Have a wonderful prayer time with our great God and savior this morning.
