Scripture in the Morning #97

Good Morning.

Each command of God’s Word is part of God working within us that which is pleasing in His sight.

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Each command is His giving, we receiving, we being blessed and He moving us through it all to bless others. We start…

Ephesians. 4:26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

As regards anger, do we possess anger that need not be part of us? Worry over things we cannot control – things we cannot change – often leads to discontentment, to bitterness, to frustration and to anger. Any such response – that produces in us frustration, bitterness & anger – is unnecessary, counter productive and moves us towards self and away from God and others.

Some quotes regarding worrying about things outside of our own control…

Worry does not take away tomorrow’s trouble; it takes away today’s peace.”

“Worrying will never change the outcome of things you cannot control in the first place. All it can do is make you angry and make the lives of those around you less because of your frustration and anger.”

“ It is a shame that so many worry about things they cannot change with the result that they become less able to make positive change in the things they actually can change.”

We hear so often things like, “I am worried so much about our country…” or “This political world so depresses me..”. These are things we worry about that will not change one iota through our worry. The frustration this produces, and the anger that results, tends to drain us and make us less able to be a blessing to those around us – we are to mired in our own needless anger to be of much use to those we love around us.

So… how much needless worry and frustration do we take upon ourselves – and at what cost to those around us that we love?

Would it not be better to count our blessings, be thankful to the Lord and seek His grace to give us eyes to see the needs of those around us and hearts to serve them better?

Anger, frustration, worry just gets in the way producing nothing of value and diminishing our hearts ability to be a positive impact on those around us. Food for thought!

Have a most blessed day!
