1 Corinthians 2:6 -12

Two Tasks Before we Enter into our Text
– First, name a person in your mind that is the person you love most in this world…
– Now, second… if you could give them anything to enjoy — what would you give them?
– What is the Only Gift that Lasts for Eternity?
– a Relationship with God — an Eternal Relationship with God — through Christ…
– We each have a Relationship with God and we can – in God’s Power – Share that Gift…
1 Cor 2:6,7 … among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this
age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7 But we impart a
secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our
benefit
– A Consideration…
– In order to Impart Biblical wisdom, we need to Possess Biblical Wisdom…
– So we pray — “Lord move me to understand your Word that I can declare your Glory
accurately to my loved ones.”

– Only God Saves…
– But we have the Privilege of Sharing the Love the Lord has Given us with those around
us…
– We have the privilege of Sharing the Glory of God in Christ with our Loved Ones…
– A Reminder: All Truth is Revealed by God. So, as we seek the Desire to be in the Word, we seek
Grace to Reveal Truth from the Word so that we can Share that Truth with our Loved Ones…
1 Cor 2:8,9 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not
have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen,
nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those
who love Him”

– The World has No Idea of the Value of the Gift we can Give our Loved ones – the Gift of
Hearing of what Eternity with God is like…
but we know… and that is why we want our loved Ones to know…
– May the Lord Fix our Hearts upon Eternity and the Blessings we will Experience Forever and, at
the same time, may we Praise and Thank Him for today. For Today is Wonderful (even with trial
and difficulties) and Eternity will be Infinitely Better…
1 Cor 2:10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches

everything, even the depths of God

– Some Truths to Consider…
– What we know about God is from God Himself…
– the Truth we know of God and the Joy that flows onto us as we contemplate the things of
God are a Gift to us from God…
– and this is what we want to share with our Loved Ones

– Some Truths to Consider…
– God Reveals Truth to each of us with Perfect Timing, in the Proper Measure, and in the
Ideal Context of our Living as only He can…
– He is Growing each of us precisely in the manner that is best for each of us and we each
have a Unique Group of People the Lord Placed in our Lives to Share this Truth with…
1 Cor 2:11 For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in
him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
– What an amazing thing it is that God the Holy Spirit Reveals the Things of God to our Hearts –
that God the Father and God the Son’s Great Glory would be known by us and Enjoyed by us…
and we want our Loved Ones to Know & Enjoy Him as well
1 Cor 2:12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God,

that we might understand the things freely given us by God.

– And What God Moves us to Understand, We should Share with Everyone… for God’s Glory and
for the Benefit of those we Care About…
– Some Closing Considerations…
– Do we need to know a great deal about the Lord in order to share Him with others?

No!

– Do we need to have excellent and compelling words to speak?
1 Cor 2:1,2 And when I came to you, brothers, I did not come proclaiming to you the
testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing
among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Can we who know Christ really say we love someone if we do not share Christ with them?
To know Christ and to revel in His greatness and to enjoy Him as we do, marveling at His grace — to
have all this and not share it with our children, with our grandkids, with our spouse — with those we

love… is that at all Loving?

– The highest expression of loving someone is to be used of the Lord to more fully unite them to
God… Sharing the Love He pours into us, with them…
John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must

love one another.

– The Gift we Give is Really a Gift God gives our Loved Ones Through Us… and so we Praise
Him…

1 John 4:7

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
